The other day I was thinking about things that I miss. Doug Hoerth came to mind. Doug Hoerth was a radio talk show host in Pittsburgh for about thirty years. He died ten years ago. His show ran for three hours in the afternoon. It wasn’t a serious ‘issues’ or politics show. Doug was well versed in about everything and you never knew what would come up on any given day. A lot of pop culture stuff, he was a great interviewer. He was also a very funny guy. One year around Thanksgiving he received a phone call on his show from a woman named Gertrude Wilson. The television station that the radio station he was on was affiliated with had a pumpkin pie recipe that they would send out. Gertrude Wilson thought she was talking to someone behind the scenes at the station- instead she had Uncle Dougie.
That was funny…he played it well.
Cackling and trying not to choke on coffee!
That is so good. Im busting a gut.
