Under The Covers: Other Artists Covering Beatles Songs: ‘While My Guitar Gently Weeps’- Eric Clapton. George Harrison’s masterpiece from The White Album- one of his most popular and best songs. Eric Clapton played on The Beatles recording- and here he is at The Concert For George playing it with a couple of George’s old mates sitting in- Paul and Ringo- and George’s son Dhani.
Just a year after Geo’s passing. Must have been so difficult for everybody to do this concert. Am crying just thinking about it.
I really like this one.
Hans I might have missed it but have you featured Elvis Costello doing Penny Lane? It’s great.
You mean the performance at the (Obama) White House? Wow, I just saw it and it’s amazing!
Yes! That is the one.
It’s fantastic. And the band appears to be Macca’s backing and touring band. These guys are awesome!
Yes I noticed that. I think Paul was getting the Gershwin prize…I could be wrong though.
Great version, though I have to add since the rendition at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame featuring this crazy guitar solo by Prince, a new benchmark has been set that’s perhaps impossible to match. The other thing I have to say it’s just incredible how similar Dhani looks to George!
I have watched this film numerous times. What a gathering of great musicians, and Prince with his guitar solo was stunning. It would have been nice if George’s son Dhani did one of his Dad’s songs.
