Originally a hit as a country single for Lynn Anderson in 1970- a year later covered by B.J. Thomas. Billy Joe Thomas was born in Hugo, Oklahoma in 1942 but was raised in Rosenberg, Texas. From 1966-1983 he had 26 Hot 100 singles with 14 making the Top 40. He had 2 #1 hits- “Raindrops Keep Fallin’ On My Head” the Oscar winner for Best Song- from Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid’ in 1969 and “[Hey Won’t You Play] Another Somebody Done Somebody Wrong Song.’ in 1975.
