Mary Hopkin born in 1950 in Wales- was kind of a Forrest Gump of the late 60’s -early 70’s- She was discovered by Twiggy. Twiggy recommended her to The Beatles Paul McCartney. She was one of the first artists signed to The Beatles Apple Records- and Paul McCartney produced her huge hit “Those Were The Days.” She was also married for a time to producer Tony Visconti- who produced David Bowie. Mary had 6 Hot 100 singles with 3 making the Top 40.
