“Make It With You” was the first entry onto the charts for the soft rock band from LA- Bread. They would go on to have their first dozen singles reach the Top 40- it wasn’t until the end in 1977 that “Hooked On You” became the only non-Top 40 in single in their careers. “Make It With You” would be their only #1 hit. Only two members of Bread appear on this song- frontman David Gates and drummer Mike Botts. Bread would be the Kings of Wimp Rock but I must say they were well crafted/ written hits that they had- but on the wimpy side. They were in the right era- early 1970’s.

    • I have to give credit where it is due- I wasn’t wild about them either but they did what they did- well.

    • “Diary” always cracks me up- as his girl loves someone else– and he wishes them all the best… wimp rocks finest moment.
