The pop-rock group out of The Hague, Holland hit it big in 1969 with the #1 hit “Venus.” They had 3 Hot 100 singles but only that one Top 40 hit- which is kind of a mystery- they had an outstanding singer in Mariska Veres.
I know that I’m a fan…but that is really good.
While “Venus” admittedly was more catchy, this tune is a great example that Shocking Blue should have been more than essentially a one-hit wonder. This song rocks and the lead vocalist had a great voice!
