  1. Oh, MacArthur Park….one of my favorites of all time.
    But the disparity in lyrics (at least to me) is amusing.
    One the one hand, the line “I recall the yellow cotton dress foaming on the ground like a wave around your knees” is so beautiful, but then the
    “I’ll never get the recipe again,” line and “it took so long to bake it” never sat well with me; it’s like the poetry slips into some whining and complaining and the two don’t gel or something, lol
