THE BEATLES COVER OF THE DAY- “GOT TO GET YOU INTO MY LIFE”- EARTH, WIND AND FIRE

The Beatles Cover of the Day – “Got To Get You into My Life” by Earth, Wind and Fire. There wasn’t much good that came out of the dumpster fire of a movie/ movie soundtrack “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band” except for a couple stellar covers- one I featured a few days ago “Come Together” by Aerosmith- the other “Got To Get You Into My Life” by Earth, Wind and Fire.  “Got To Get You Into My Life” was written by Paul McCartney -and credited to Lennon-McCartney and was on Revolver released in 1966. It wasn’t until ten years later that The Beatles original was released as a single-to help promote the compilation “Rock N Roll Music”- the single peaked at #7.

Earth, Wind and Fire recorded the song for the soundtrack of Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band- the movie starring The Bee Gees and Peter Frampton- and it was released as a single in July 1978 and peaked at #9 on the Billboard Hot 100- and #1 on the Soul singles chart. Earth, Wind and Fire gave the song the “Earth, Wind and Fire treatment. They were at their peak in the mid to late 70’s as far as being hit makers. I prefer The Beatles original but this is a remake that I enjoy hearing.
