The Beatles Cover Song of the Day- “Come Together” by Aerosmith. This version of “Come Together” is one of the few good things to come out of the dumpster fire know as “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band”- the movie from 1978, one of the worst movies ever. Dreadful. I am not a big Aerosmith fan at all- especially the version of Aerosmith after Run D.M.C. saved their careers in the mid 80’s- but their cover of “Come Together” is pretty darn good. “Come Together” by Aerosmith went to #23 on the Hot 100. The other song I like from that soundtrack is Earth, Wind and Fire’s “Got To Get You Into My Life.” Yes I did buy that soundtrack when it came out.
Awesome cover in my book. 🙂
Yes they did a fantastic cover here. The Tyler-Perry combo has always reminded me of Jagger-Richards.
a poor man’s Jagger- Richards…
More blue collars to me, but these days blue collars are poor, so I guess I agree 😉
A lot of his songs are about people just trying to make it, just trying to get by.
After Permanent Vacation they became a power ballad band… good cover here.
While I wouldn’t call myself a huge fan, I think most Aerosmith albums I know have at least one or two pretty decent songs. I agree their cover of “Come Together” is pretty good. “Baby, Please Don’t Go” is another one I like.
They do great covers of some other Beatles tracks too. Helter Skelter is on the Pandora’s Box collection and classic B-Side I’m Down is on Permanent Vacation. What can I say? I am a fan
We’d never heard this version before and it’s a wow for us. Keep them coming, mate.
