MY LIFE THROUGH MY T-SHIRT COLLECTION- BLACK DOG RECORDS

IMG_1178

Most concerts I’ve been to the opening acts are forgettable but in the last 1990’s  I got to see Marah open for Steve Earle a couple times and they were great. Headed by two brothers from Philadelphia- David and Serge Bielanko- Marah is a rock and roll group- in the style of a early Bruce Springsteen. Over the years they have put out close to a dozen albums- some of them outstanding, always interesting. One of the times I saw them open for Steve Earle they were promoting their first album “Let’s Cut The Crap & Hook Up Later Tonight” -which would be their only album on Black Dog Records- so I bought the t-shirt they were selling. Their next two albums would be on Steve Earle’s short lived E-Square Records.

  1. I love going early to see opening acts. I discovered some great acts that way. Pulp opening for Blur, for instance, and Dandy Warhols for The Charlatans UK.
