VAN MORRISON: ASTRAL WEEKS LIVE AT THE HOLLYWOOD BOWL: 2009: 4 STARS OUT OF 5 STARS: No one thought Van would ever do Astral Weeks live but in 2009 he did. Of course not as great as the original- but pretty good. Wish I had seen him doing my favorite Van album.
NEIL FINN: DIZZY HEIGHTS: 2014: 4 STARS OUT OF 5 STARS: It took me repeated listens to really get into this album for some reason but once it sunk in. One of the premier songwriters of the day.
THE BAND: MOONDOG MATINEE: 3 STARS OUT OF 5 STARS: An album of covers. Not bad as a covers album goes but I am not a big covers album fan- throwing a cover or two in during a concert is one thing- an album full of them a little too much especially for a band of this quality.

BIRDS OF CHICAGO: LIVE FROM SPACE: 2013: 4 STARS OUT OF 5 STARS: Not a big fan of live albums but this one is pretty good- a friend turned me on to Birds of Chicago- Americana group. This live cd was a good introduction of the band. I haven’t seen them in concert [my friend has} but it sounds like they have a lot of fun on stage playing. Catchy tunes.
