The Washington Redskins are coming off of an 8-7-1 season and missing the playoffs. They have had a turbulent off season with GM Scott McClaughan being fired in March just as free-agency was opening. They have franchised quarterback Kirk Cousins for the second year in a row and it appears the two parties are not going to be able to agree to a long term contract, so the Redskins are probably in the market to draft a quarterback, possibly in the second or third round if one is available to their liking. They also need help at running back and with the 2017 defense that was ranked 27th overall- help all over the place on defense.
With the 17th overall pick the Washington Redskins select Stanford running back Christian McCaffrey-6’0″ 202 4.51 40 time. Son of longtime Broncos receiver Ed, Christian is an all around threat on offense-as a ball carrier and as a receiver. Has great foot speed and balance. The Redskins can really use McCaffrey to boost both their running and passing game.
