original_461

Goal is to listen to 1500 different albums in a 12 month period.

LISTENED TO TODAY- 4 DIFFERENT ALBUMS. TOTAL 9 DAYS-58 DIFFERENT ALBUMS.

  • VAN MORRISON: HIS BAND AND THE STREET CHOIR: 1970. 4 STARS OUT OF 5 STARS. Pails in comparison to “Astral Weeks” and “Moondance” still a very good album from Van The Man. “Domino’ would become his highest chart single in the US- reaching #9. “Brown Eyed Girl” had reached #10 a few years earlier. Van would never be a force on the singles charts.
  • BIG STAR: KEEP AN EYE ON THE SKY [BOX SET DISC 1] 2009. 5 STARS OUT OF 5 STARS. I have always loved box sets. Seems like the day of the box set is past though. This is one of my favorites and I have been on a Big Star kick of late.
  • THE BEATLES: BEATLES FOR SALE: 1964. 5 STARS OUT OF 5 STARS. The Beatles look so tired on the album cover. Did they get any sleep in 1964?
  • BUCK OWENS: THE BUCK OWENS COLLECTION: 1990. DISC 1 OF BOX SET. 5 STARS OUT OF 5 STARS. The early years of country legend Buck Owens. Don Rich- guitar-fiddle- backing vocals- was Buck’s secret weapon. After his tragic death in a motorcycle crash in the early 70’s Buck’s music went into decline.
