MY LIFE THROUGH MY T-SHIRT COLLECTION- THE CLASH “LONDON CALLING”

IMG_1012

The Clash’s magnificent double album “London Calling” would have been the album of the 1980’s -had it only been released a couple weeks later {It was released December 14, 1979.} One of my top dozen albums of all time and one of my most listened to albums since. I doubt a month goes by without giving it a listen.

The Clash released an incredible amount of music in a short period of time. 1966-82, six years, five albums- one of them being a double album and another “Sandinista” a triple album. { I rarely think of “Cut The Crap” released in 1985 as a Clash album since Mick Jones and Topper Headon were gone by that point and well the album was below par.}

Great album cover. Over the years I had always wanted to t-shirt of the album but never saw one until a trip to Los Angeles in the early 2000’s. Saw it being sold on the street in Hollywood and bought it.

  1. Are we related? “London Calling” is my favourite album of all time and “Cut The Crap”…probably the worst album of all time (I’m exaggerating of course, but it was really bad).

    • I can still remember- back in those days this could happen– going into the record store and seeing “Cut The Crap” and I had no idea it was coming out. I buy it because- it is The Clash.. take it home and play it and was so disappointed. Crap was the correct word. Is it even available today? Not that I am looking for another copy or anything.
