“Gone With The Wind” by Margaret Mitchell Wins The Pulitzer Prize For Fiction-This Day 1937

On this day in 1937 Margaret Mitchell won the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction for her novel “Gone With The Wind.” It was the only novel she published during her lifetime. She was killed in 1949 when she was hit by a speeding automobile. The book was made into one of the iconic movies of all times in 1939 starring Clark Gable and Vivien Leigh. I’ve never read the book but have seen the movie countless times over the years.
