Hans Hot 100 Beatles Songs: #23: ‘Revolution I’ There are three Beatles songs named Revolution- there is of course everyone’s favorite- Revolution #9 near the end of The White Album- and the rocking ‘Revolution’ that was the b-side to ‘Hey Jude’ and this one- a slower version of the rocking ‘Revolution’ which also appears on The White Album- called ‘Revolution I’- written by John Lennon. This 1 is a nice change from the more breathless single version. The stuttering start is flippant genius. Both great- and isn’t it great when two takes on the same song can be appreciated equally? And as for Number 9? Well, they should have given up on the revolution after the eighth effort.
Love that one.
