Carly Simon’s second hit- following ‘That’s The Way We Always Heard It Should Be’ from earlier in 1971. This hit may be best remembered for being used in a Heinz ketchup commercial in the 70’s- early 80’s era. Carly Simon has had 23 Hot 100 hits from 1971-1989- with 12 making the Top 40. Her biggest hit- went to #1 in 1972 “You’re So Vain.’

Good song, but like you said, unfortunately I can’t think of it without automatically thinking of ketchup.
She sold it too quickly to the Hienz folks. She had a great voice, but from what I read, had a terrible case of stage fright and was socially paralyzed. So why become a singer and performer? Not sure. James Taylor and his downward spirals didn’t build her confidence. I had no idea she was dating old Cat Stevens.
Great point there- it was like that song went from the charts to commercials- in a blink of an eye…..I thought both Simon and Taylor had more hits than they actually did.
