I have always maintained that 1965 was the GOAT as far as singles go- Look at this Top 40- you have The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, The Byrds, The Supremes, Marvin Gaye, The Temptations , James Brown, The Miracles, The Four Tops, The Yardbirds- among others. Even more variety when you throw in Dean Martin, Herb Alpert and The Tijuana Brass, country music’s Little Jimmy Dickens and Eddy Arnold. .

Herb Alpert & May The Bird of Paradise Fly Up Your Nose remind me of being at my maternal Grandmother’s house. She had Alpert albums and whatever album (compilation, I think) that had the other song
Patty Duke???.
