Hans Hot 100 Beatles Songs: #27: ‘Something’-
#27- From Abbey Road- the Abbey Road Medley on side 2 -is terrific no doubt- I have it at #27 but the two best songs from the album in my opinion were written by George Harrison. #27- ‘Something’- was called by Frank Sinatra the greatest love song ever written. There is no question that as The Beatles were coming to an end- George was at the top of his game as a songwriter.

This is one of my favorite Beatles songs too.
“Something” was a masterpiece. Even John said he liked it.
George showed steady progress over the years as a songwriter- I think at this time he was on par with John and Paul.
This one was no ‘C’mon Paul we gotta throw George the occasional bone.’ This was no second best, this one shimmered.
if The Beatles had continued- John and Paul would have had a battle on their hands with George’s emergence.
Seriously, one of the most beautiful songs ever written.
this is number one on my Beatles list, but to each his own…and it shows what a depth of talent they had that there could be 27 songs even worth mentioning in the same set.
