James Ingram – an R&B singer-songwriter-pianist was born in Akron, Ohio in 1952. Ingram died of brain cancer at the age of 66 in 2019. He had 10 Hot 100 singles with 7 making the Top 40 between 1981-98. His other #1 was a duet with Patti Austin -‘ Baby, Come To Me’ in 1982.
