100 Great Songs From The British Invasion: 1963-1966: ‘Over And Over’- Dave Clark Five. Written by Robert James Byrd- and released under his stage name- Bobby Day in 1958 -it peaked at #41 on the charts- Thurman Harris had a cover out-it was the b-side to his hit ‘Rockin’ Robin.’ The most successful version of course was the 1965 Dave Clark Five version which went to #1 in the US- their only US #1 – the final #1 hit of 1965. The single was a flop in the UK- #45. Speaking of the Dave Clark Five- there is an excellent documentary out there about them called -Dave Clark Five & Beyond: Glad All Over.

One- or two- things the DC5 always delivered was BIG drums and BIG vocals.
I loved the sound of their boot heels.
For what they did, the DC5 did it very well.
