The Bangles second #1- after ‘Walk Like An Egyptian’ in 1986. They also had 2 singles which peaked at #2- ‘Manic Monday’ and ‘Hazy Shade Of Winter’. A great song here- the first time I heard it -it sounded like a big hit to me- and I also sensed the end was near for The Bangles. This felt like a Susanna Hoffs solo offering instead of a Bangles single.
Great song, apparently inspired by the flame at Elvis’ Graceland . Rumor has it Susanna was nude when she recorded the vocals. Boy… would it have gone to #1++ if that was in the video…?
So beautiful I had to replay it 3x
