‘Monkey’ was the 4th #1 hit from George Michael’s Faith album- and it was the 4th #1 he had during the calendar year of 1988. I knew he was having hits at the time but I wasn’t following the Top 40 anymore- I didn’t realize 4 #1’s in a year. It’s sad to see that someone with this kind of talent would have the personal demons in his life get the best of him. He would live another 28 and release only four more albums- none in the last dozen years of his life.
