Steve Winwood’s second and final #1 hit- his first was ‘Higher Love’ in 1986- it was from his highest charting album- Roll With It- which reached #4 on the album charts. Overall Winwood as a solo artists had 10 Top 40 hits. Winwood gained his first fame not as a solo artist but as a member of bands- The Spencer Davis Band, Traffic and Blind Faith. The song writing credits on this song- Holland-Dozier-Holland the famous Motown songwriting team added on for the songs resemblance to Junior Walker’s ‘I’m A Roadrunner.’ I can certainly hear that.
