  1. couple on there I don’t know (including the Temptations one, suprisingly) but majority I really like. But, yes, you’re so right about ‘Run Joey Run’… I got a big 70s compilation set not long ago that had it and I listened to it…oh man, that’s a bad song in every respect! I didn’t like it back then, but now, it’s a candidate for worst chart hit of the decade I think.

  4. I despised Jefferson Starship. What hokey, popped-up, sell out version of Jefferson Airplane. I feel the same about the Bachman Turner Overdrive-Guess Who association. The Guess Who were great.

    • I agree with every name change- especially by the time they got to Starship- pathetic! Of course the garbage they produced sold.

  5. In the late 60s to early 70s, the Top 40 was marked by healthy variety, even if there was the odd stinker. This survey is downright bi-polar. Some great ones amid the crap but I stopped listening to AM soon after this period.
