I never thought of Cheap Trick as a single band- they did have 8 Top 40 hits from 1979-1990- with ‘The Flame’ being their biggest hit- and only #1. I liked the late 70’s- early 80’s Cheap Trick- by the time this came out I had lost interest- and this song I never really warmed up to- a power ballad. It’s nice they that they had a #1 hit in their career- but its too bad it wasn’t a great song like ‘Surrender.’ OK I will say it- this was a sell out.. not that there’s anything wrong with that.
I get so tired of people accusing artists & bands of ‘selling out’. I love this song.
You love every song.
Not true. I hate “The Night Chicago Died”, “Ring My Bell”, “You’re Having My Baby” and everything by The Osmonds.
Mostly true though- I don’t understand how anyone can’t appreciate a masterpiece like ‘The Night Chicago Died’!!!! LOL.
