There were 11 singles which entered the Billboard Hot 100 on August 14th that eventually cracked the Top 40- 2 of them went to #1 a great week. The best song of the bunch- Rod Stewart’s “Maggie May’ which quickly became his signature song. The album it came off of Every Picture Tells A Story one of the best albums of that year- and the entire decade. I am not a fan of his later work but in the early 1970’s Rod was great.
