It was great to see Beatle George have this late career success with the album Cloud 9- and a #1 hit- a cover of an obscure 1962 single by James Ray. George has he distinction of having the last #1 hit by a Beatle in the Billboard Pop Hot 100.

  1. It was so nice to see that after all his frustration with the music business and several years of hiatus, George staged a nice comeback with this album. And while “Cloud Nine” was his final solo album released during his lifetime, it did prompt him to start the Traveling Wilburys.

    • When Cloud 9 came out I remember being a little surprised- I thought that it was possible George would never release another album.. back then 5-6 years between albums was forever- today not so much.
