‘Alone’ was first recorded in 1983 by I-Ten. It would become Heart’s biggest hit in the United States spending 3 weeks at #1. I have mentioned it before- I much prefer the moderately successful Heart of the 1970’s early 80’s over the commercial ‘hits’ they had in the mid- 80’s. They came upon a successful formula- and I guess who can blame them for wanting big success- even though it came at a cost- their music went into the toilet but hey they got some big hits.
Heart has always been one of my favorite groups. Magic Man is still my favorite of theirs.
They were a better rock group in the 70s. If I hear “These Dreams” one more time, I’m gonna barf.
that seems to be a song they run into the ground- still….
I tend to agree with Heart’s Ann and Nancy Wilson opinions of this song and era for them. They say bluntly it was crap… the record label pushed them to make records they didn’t like and videos they didn’t like. But, it sure did shoot their career into the stratosphere.
And, made the suits rich in the process.
I didn’t know they agreed with me!
I don’t care, I still love this song.
