#82: ‘Being For The Benefit Of Mr. Kite’- another song from Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band- the entire album makes the countdown- except for one song’ Lovely Rita.’ This John Lennon song finished off side 1 of ‘Sgt. Pepper.’ John was inspired to write it from a 19th century poster that he purchased from an antique store in January 1967. A case of the poster pretty much writing the song. Sometimes you never know where inspiration will come.

This is my favorite song on “Sgt. Pepper,” mostly because of all the calliope music at the end.
Beatles did a whole lot of great music, obviously, but this one would make my top 30 of theirs for sure…maybe top 20.
