This #1 was written by Bruce Hornsby and his brother John Hornsby- and was meant for the Hornsby album that Lewis was producing. Hornsby didn’t care for the recording and instead of releasing it suggested it to Lewis- and of course you know the rest- it becomes Lewis’s 3rd #1 hit. One of Lewis’s better ones. I have called Huey Lewis the ‘King Of Pedestrian Rock’ over the years but in looking over his list of hit singles I can’t say that there is any single one that I would give below a C. I don’t hate any of them. Just not a big fan. Huey Lewis seems like a guy it would be hard to work up a dislike for.
It’s a really good song.
He can’t sing, anymore. Something has happened to his hearing and he is now tone deaf.
Yes, it’s sad. Still – I’d rather remember him as he was, instead of him resorting to something like (gasp) autotune.
True.
Love this song, which is probably my favorite by H.L. & the News.
