The Glass Bottle- a pop band from New Jersey- had only 2 Hot 100 singles and this was the only one to crack the Top 40. They were co-produced by the inventor of the ‘break in’ songs- Dickie Goodman. The orignal version of this song was done by Cliff Richard and was a hit in the UK in 1970.
I think The Glass Bottle did a commercial (and I forgot for what) that was more popular than any of their records.
It’s a shame that Cliff Richard wasn’t big here, or for that matter The Shadows…
