Tom Clay was a DJ at KGBS in Los Angeles when he created this medley combining the Jackie DeShannon and Dion hits- and adding snippets of speeches by JFK, RFK, brother Ted Kennedy and Martin Luther King Jr. Predictably It would be the only Hot 100 Hit of Tom Clay’s career.
I was teary-eyed, too.
As songs like this go, this was a good one.
