Under The Covers: Other Artists Covering Beatles Songs: ‘Hey Jude’- Bing Crosby. A Paul McCartney masterpiece- one of The Beatles biggest ever hits. There have been many covers of ‘Hey Jude’ but the first one that comes to mind is the one by Bing Crosby. One day back in the late 70’s I remember going over to visit my friend and fellow Beatlemaniac Daniel. As soon as I walked in the door he was showing me his latest ‘find’ at a yard sale. Hey Jude/ Hey Bing an album by the great Bing Crosby. He had to play ‘Hey Jude’ by Der Bingle- immediately.

Neat story to go with it, Hans. When Der Bingle sings everything is easy peasy.
He has quickly become- kind of forgotten which is a shame.
Well, it’s no, White Christmas, but Crosby is always enjoyable to hear.
I cannot stand Bing Crosby the man, nor the singer. I honestly do not understand his immense popularity, as to my ears, he was only a small step above Pat Boone. He sucked all the life, groove and soul out of “Hey Jude”. Yuk!
