Under The Covers: Other Artists Covering Beatles Songs ‘Lady Madonna’- Fats Domino. This was an easy choice- whenever I hear “Lady Madonna’ I always think of Fats Domino- it sounds like Paul McCartney was influenced by The Fat Man when he wrote this song- which went to #1 in the UK and #4 in the US Billboard Hot 100. Fats covered it himself the same year on his Fats Is Back album- the single by Fats peaked at #100- giving him his 77th career Billboard Hot 100 single- and as it turns out his last.

After The Fab 4, Fats’ cover is best. I love Fats’ voice!
It’s a great fit. The Beatles were huge fans of Fats Domino, and Paul previously acknowledged the tune was influenced by Domino’s piano playing.
Fats also covered “Everybody’s Got Something To Hide Except For Me And My Monkey.”
