Robert Palmer’s only #1 hit- and one of the more memorable videos of that era. He did have two singles peak at #2- ‘I Didn’t Mean To Turn You On’ also in 1986 and ‘Simply Irresistible’ #2 in 1988. Robert Palmer died way too young- of a heart attack in 2003 at the age of 54. Palmer smoked as many as 60 cigarettes a day.
Yes very memorable video! Didn’t he also have a hit with Bad Case of Lovin’ you? Don’t know if it charted.
Bad Case Of Lovin’ You- was his first hit- I think it was 1978? A moderate hit. My favorite song of his I think though.
Getting my Palmer mixed up -his first hit and my favorite was Every Kinda People- #16 in 1978.
Unforgettable video. Good one to dance to. 3 packs a day???? :::smh:::
I loved his voice … and was a fan since the days of “Bad Case of Lovin’ You.” Such a sad loss. Hard to believe I’m older than he was when he left us.
His death came as a shocker- it wasn’t like he was some rock and roll wildman- those types seem to live forever!
Also, OMG the ’80’s. I remember going out made up in almost the exact manner as the video models.
A great classic and one of the best videos of that time!
Clues is a good Robert Palmer album too. Saw him in 1988, not a particularly exciting show. Addicted to Love is a fine track.
Great vocalist. It’s a shame he passed so early!
