This song was originally written for Janet Jackson but she passed on it. This was the 3rd #1 in a row from Whitney’s self- titled debut album- and the 3rd of her 11 #1 hits in her career. This would be my favorite song of hers- was never much of a fan after the debut album. Not saying she couldn’t sing but it seemed to me it got to a point where the point of the whole exercise was just to show off her voice.
