The second song to hit #1 that had at least in part the title ‘9 To 5’- in early 1981. The title was ‘9 to 5’ in other countries but due to the Dolly Parton hit earlier in the year was changed in the US of A. ‘Morning Train [9 to 5]- was Sheena Easton’s first hit and it would be her only #1. Born Sheena Orr in Scotland in 1959- Easton would have 21 Hot 100 singles with 15 hitting the Top 40- including two others -U Got The Look with Prince and ‘The Lover In Me’ which peaked at #2.
What happened to her? She was burning the place up for a short while, then nothing.
Its been 30 years since I’ve heard anything about her…
She stays busy:

As a 007 movie fan, I mostly remember Sheena Easton for “For Your Eyes Only.” I also recall listening to “9 to 5” on the radio back in Germany.
The record has a bouncy beat , ok if yoy ignore the lyrics…but have to say, this song annoys me when I hear it on oldies radio… ‘My baby takes the morning train… then takes another home again.’ Really ? yawn
