The pop duo of Daryl “The Captain” Dragon and Toni Tennnille had only 14 Hot 100 singles and 9 Top 40 hits between 1975-and 1980 but it seemed like they had dozens- they just wouldn’t go away. Thankfully ‘Do That To Me One More Time’ was their final Top 40 hit [and it was their second #1 ‘Love Will Keep Us Together” #1 in 1975 was their first hit. Some trivia- Daryl Dragon for a time was a keyboardist for The Beach Boys- and was given the name “The Captain” by Beach Boys singer Mike Love.

    • They didn’t have a lot of hits but it seemed like when they had a hit -it was a big one- kind of like KC and The Sunshine Band.

    • I looked at it this way- its like a teacher with an annoying student who does very little work- who has already been held back once or twice in his career you give them a D and pass them along to the next grade.
