I really didn’t care for this song as an 18 year old- but my thought was- at least it’s not another disco #1. Peaches and Herb were an R&B vocal duo from Washington, D.C. Herb was Herbert Feemster- over the years there were a few “Peaches” but the one on this single is Francine “Peaches” Barker. Peaches And Herb had 5 Top 40 singles in 1966-67- then little success until 1978’s “Shake Your Groove Thing” went to #4- followed up by this #1 hit.
