- THE WATERBOYS: FISHERMAN’S BLUES: 1988:4 1/2 STARS OUT OF 5 STARS: CD: FOLK ROCK: This was my introduction to The Waterboys. A great mixture of musical styles on this album- My Mount Rushmore- “Fisherman’s Blues” , “We Will Not Be Lovers”, “And A Bang On The Ear” and their cover of Van Morrison’s “Sweet Thing.”
Great album – When Ye Go Away is a favourite.
Off topic Hans…The Dodgers signed Trevor Bauer…I never expected that.
what an addition- Padres fans can’t be happy tonight. I expected the Dodgers to respond in some way- adding an outstanding pitcher- is always good.
That is a strong pitcher to slot where I think will be the number three spot. No they can’t be thrilled about this.
I was actually thinking about The Waterboys just the other day. I taped this album on music cassette. Since I didn’t throw out my MCs, that old tape may still be floating round. I haven’t listened to that band in ages but do remember I really liked that album at the time!
One of my favorite albums for so many reasons
