My Music Listening Journal 2021: Day 31: Sunday January 31, 2021.

- DAVID BOWIE: LOW: 1977: 5 STARS OUT OF 5 STARS: ITUNES: Experimental Rock: I must admit that back in the day when I first heard this album the music was so foreign and experimental to my ears that I didn’t care for it. Years later on giving it more listening- I’ve grown to love it. The first album in Bowie’s Berlin Trilogy. Brian Eno and long time Bowie producer Tony Visconti producing. Bowie always changing- experiments with ambient and electronic music on this album- no hit singles, a number of instrumentals. Mount Rushmore: “Sound And Vision”, “Be My Wife”, “Breaking Glass” and “Warszawa.”
I still have this album – must pull it out and give it a spin. Some great tunes.
“Low” is just brilliant. Don’t know if you are aware, but Philip Glass did a symphony based on the album.
Didn’t know that…. Nick Lowe who was just starting his solo career at the time said he was going to call his next album Bowi since Bowie named his album after him- but left the e off the end…
Clever lad, that Nick!
The Eno/Fripp collaborations got my attention.
