Last week I covered the final week of 1981- and when I went to the first week in 1982- well immediately I saw the problem, pretty close to the same Top 40- so for now I will skip ahead a year to 1983. 1983 was a pretty solid year and this Top 40 very good. I think I’d go with “Rock The Casbah” as my favorite song in this 40.

Plus Peter Gabriel Joe Jackson Petty Mellencamp – all in all yes pretty good week!
Yes it was- some good music.
Men at Work…a band I never fully appreciated…nor was attached to. Looking back they had some nice pop hits and were not mired in heavy 80s production…I just couldn’t get into them very much and I don’t know why.
I liked them but not fanatical or anything-I never bought any of their albums- until this past year for $1 at a used records store.
You can’t beat that price. Hans how many albums do you have? I can’t imagine.
I will have to add them up. i had them all sorted out in order this time last year- the ones i bought last year need blended in with the others- I am in the process of doing that- last year somehow I have four totes filled with albums- and last year wasn’t a great year for going places and doing things– I would guess around 1500? Of course the crown jewel is– Crazy Horses~
Oh that is the Centerpiece to the set! That is a nice collection. I lost many of mine moving whne I was young and foolish…now I’m old and foolish but a different kind.
You’re cracking me up, Max!
Actually Christian…that title song is quite good! Also lookup the song “Hold Her Tight” off that album…and tell me who it sounds like.
All vinyl?
That’s just vinyl- I have a ton of CD’s. Not many cassette tapes I hated cassette tapes and got rid of most of them. While I can’t get rid of anything- well that’s not true. I got rid of my of my cassettes.
Oh, my…
My favorite Hall & Oates song was always the one about the shark.
this was definitely the last decade where I could look at the top 40 and say, yeh, I like just about all of them.
You and me both. It shocked me to think that if I looked at a Top 40 from say 1995 I’d probably only know a handful of them.
Pretty solid charts overall. I liked Men at Work, and “Down Under” is one of my favorite songs I know from them, though like you, I never was an outright fan.
Great chart but, Love In Store??? Fleetwood Mac? I’m lost on that one.
