AMERICAN TOP 40- THE 80’S- WEEK OF JANUARY 8, 1983

Last week I covered the final week of 1981- and when I went to the first week in 1982- well immediately I saw the problem, pretty close to the same Top 40- so for now I will skip ahead a year to 1983. 1983 was a pretty solid year and this Top 40 very good. 1. Men at Work…a band I never fully appreciated…nor was attached to. Looking back they had some nice pop hits and were not mired in heavy 80s production…I just couldn’t get into them very much and I don’t know why.

    • You and me both. It shocked me to think that if I looked at a Top 40 from say 1995 I’d probably only know a handful of them.
