Bobby Goldsboro was born in Marianna, Florida in 1941. His big hit was “Honey” #1 1968. Gag. He was highly successful in the late 60’s -early 70’s having 26 Hot 100 Singles with 11 making the Top 40. This song which was written by Mac Davis who at the time was known mostly as a songwriter- his debut album had come out in 1970. One of those songs that is so bad it’s kind of fascinating. A much better song is the Dead Milkmen’s “Watching Scotty Die.”
