The Beatles finished up side one of Beatles For Sale with one of their more successful covers- the medley done by Little Richard- “Kansas City/ Hey, Hey, Hey, Hey.” “Kansas City written by the great songwriting team of Leiber and Stoller- was made into a hit in 1959 by Wilbert Harrison. “Hey, Hey, Hey, Hey” by Little Richard in 1956. The Beatles were huge fans of Little Richard. Paul McCartney would would do his “Little Richard” in a Beatles original- “I’m Down”- sang the lead on “Kansas City/ Hey, Hey, Hey, Hey.”
