THE ORIGINALS: SONGS THE BEATLES COVERED: “DEVIL IN HER HEART”- THE DONAYS

The Originals: Songs The Beatles Covered: “Devil In His Heart”- The Donays. The Beatles cover of course was changed to “Devil In Her Heart” – the original was written by Richard Drapkin and recorded by the R&B girl group The Donays. The single was released in the UK in 1962- it wasn’t a hit on either side of the Atlantic- but The Beatles were obviously fans. The Beatles released it on their second album- a song for George Harrison to sing. I am a big George fan- and I have to give him credit- the songs in which he sings lead on the first couple albums- well – are in my opinion pretty weak- he would rapidly improve.
