  • In the 58th Grey Cup- the Canadian Football League’s championship game- the Montreal Alouettes defeated the Calgary Stampeders by the score of 23-10. The game was played at CNE Stadium in Toronto. Sonny Wade of Montreal would win the game’s MVP Award the first of three he would win in his career. This was the last Grey Cup to be played on a Saturday- starting in 1971 the game would be played on a Sunday. There will be no Grey Cup in 2020- the Canadian Football League’s season was cancelled back in August due to COVID-19.
