Civil War 160: Thursday November 15, 1860- Major Robert Anderson, a native of Kentucky who had served in for the United States in Mexico- 55 years old- on this day received special orders to proceed to Fort Moultrie at Charleston Harbor and relieve Bvt. Col. John Gardner in command. Anderson will reenter the story in April 1861- at another fort in Charleston Harbor.
