“I Just Don’t Know What To Do With Myself”- a Bacharach/ David song was first recorded in 1962 by Chuck Jackson. Dusty Springfield had a #3 hit in the UK with it in 1964, Dionne Warwick took it to #26 in the U.S in 1966. Gary Puckett fell short of the Top 40. Puckett who was born in Hibbing, Minnesota- Bob Dylan’s hometown- in 1942- is best known for his hits with Gary Puckett & Union Gap 1967-70- 7 Hot 100 hits with 6 Top 40- 5 Top 10 hits- only had 2 Hot 100 singles as a solo artist- neither cracked the Top 40.
