Isaac Hayes was born in Covington, Tennessee in 1942- he died at the age of 65 in 2008. R&B singer-songwriter, producer and keyboardist. He was a session player for Otis Redding and many others at Stax back in the 1960’s. As a solo artist from 1969=80 he had 14 Hot 100 hits and 8 that made the Top 40. His biggest hit went to #1 in 1971- “Theme From Shaft.”
